Know Before You Go
Rooms: The style is an elegant blend of historic authenticity and modern comfort and amenity. The rooms and suites are comprehensively equipped, as you would expect of a small luxury hotel. All have river views, all but one have open wood fireplaces, and all are spacious, quiet and comfortable. Lower floor rooms and suites open out to the river terrace.
Facilities: The hotel also provides the following services: Room service, meeting and banqueting facilities, complimentary bicycles and kayaks, internet access free of charge in each room, and a concierge service for restaurant and activity booking.
Features: We can readily arrange activities further afield - fly fishing, wilderness treks, wine tours, whisky tasting, cooking schools, wildlife sanctuaries, golfing, are all available. Many of these experiences are exclusive to our hotel, and privately guided. Our rural annexe, Truffle Lodge, offers a private stretch of the Derwent River, teeming with wild trout, for our guests to fish. Woodbridge is centrally located in Southern Tasmania. It makes a perfect base for enjoying the rich array of experiences available by half and full day drives - national parks, wilderness areas, the MONA Art Gallery, Salemanca markets, Bruny Island, Port Arthur, Richmond, the Coal River Valley and the Hobart waterfront. On your return to Woodbridge, a warm fire and glass of wine awaits...
Dining: Dinner and breakfast are served in our river-front pavilion, or in cooler weather, in front of a blazing fire in the Breakfast Room. Menus are based on local produce; our wine list is sourced from the Derwent Valley vineyards, beer is locally farm-brewed from Heritage hops, and breakfast jams made by our own jam ladies. Our food is flavoursome, slow cooked, and approachable.
Tasmania has an enviable reputation for clean green quality produce, and our menus reflect this. Service at Woodbridge is personal, friendly but complete. Our standards are International Small Luxury, and your comfort and satisfaction is paramount.
